A beautiful Venus Pendant in pale pink, white and clear borosilicate.
She
holds a "pink ribbon" by her side, the emblem of the battle against Breast
Cancer.
This figure has been named the "Komen Venus." The figure is
three inches tall (75 mm)x 35 mm wide (elbow to elbow), and has a loop for
hanging on the back.

What are the Venus Pendants?
I created the Venus Series pendants as a statement of womanhood, and the
essence of the divine woman. In early Neolithic times, these special figures
of women were worshipped, or regarded as having special magical properties. The
figures were apparently used at special places of worship. The figure
"Venus of Willdendorf"
is the most famous example, though there are many others
of different size and shape. Though they have common features.
Most of these figures had legs tapering to a point, apparently so they
would stand upright in sand or soft earth. Thus, my "Venus" pendants, though not
quite as "fertile" of figure, also have tapered lower legs, and are full of
womanhood.
Some believe these were related to a fertility cult, but we will never really
know.
This series of pendants is created out of borosilicate glass, a much harder and higher temperature glass than the soft Moretti Italian glass used for my other beads.
Each Venus pendant has a small but sturdy glass loop attached to the back/center of the figure, generally in the neck/shoulder area.
I
recommend that they be worn alone on a snake chain, leather
or a woven type cord.
PLEASE: Wear with care - these are
GLASS - and should not
be allowed to strike table or desk edges, drinking fountains,
etc!
